Having recently joined the Canadian Society of Decorative Arts, I would like to thank outgoing President, Harriet (Sis) Bunting Weld, incoming President, Andrea Geddes Poole, and Ornamentum Magazine, Editor, Lorraine Johnson, for their kind interest and support of Canadian glass engraving in the latest Fall issue of Ornamentum.

The Canadian Society of Decorative Arts promotes broader awareness and appreciation of decorative arts across Canada, through educational programming and publications to highlight and promote excellence in the field of decorative arts. The organization provides opportunities to meet other collectors, enthusiasts, professionals and students who collectively delight in the diverse spectrum of decorative arts across Canada.

The Canadian Society of Decorative Arts defines decorative arts as creative works produced by an artist or craftsman, which have intrinsic, aesthetic or historical value. These arts include interior design, furniture, ceramics, glass, metalwork, graphics, textiles, theatre arts, together with architectural, industrial and landscape design.

Ornamentum is the only magazine in Canada which explores the wide spectrum of decorative arts in Canada, and is published twice a year and available across the country. This beautiful publication highlights creative design and explores the diverse talents of contemporary artist/craftsman working today, as well promoting many of the finest collections of decorative arts in Canadian museums.
